"The whole team was excited":
the hospitals in the various centers in Israel rejoiced this evening (Sunday) with the first babies of the new year.
The first birth at the Sheba Medical Center for the year 2018 is that of Natalie Pels, 24 years old from Ramat Gan, who gave birth to her first daughter on New Year's Eve at 19:13 weighing 3.305. The birth was accompanied by the midwife Yehiela Heina.
The mother said: "We had an exciting and stunning birth. This is the most special and best gift we could ask for for the New Year and of course we thank the dear team of Sheba."

In the north, the TSHPG births at the Peda Furia Medical Center were started by Einav Gafni from Kiryat Tivon who gave birth a few minutes after 6:00 PM and right at the beginning of the holiday and the New Year.
Einav is the daughter of midwife Tami Gafni (Kfar Hitit), a retired midwife who worked as a midwife in the delivery room for 26 years.
Tammy said that even her daughter was only at the end of week 38, she felt that she would give birth on a holiday and she was right.
"She told me: 'Mom, don't invite guests. I'm going to give birth on the holiday,'" said the excited Tami.

The mother Einav and her partner Ram Erez said: "This is great happiness, there can be no better gift for the New Year." The couple has not yet chosen a name for the baby, who is their third daughter, who was born weighing 2,960 kg.
