Indian summer is rare.
"On the contrary: In the new week it will be quite uncomfortable at times," said Felix Dietzsch from the German Weather Service in Offenbach.
Autumn is really hitting: "A powerful low-pressure area over the Norwegian Sea is directing a large slug of polar cold air directly from the north to us in Germany."
On Monday it will rain mainly in the west.
"Lightning can sometimes occur near the coast," explained Dietzsch.
It's supposed to be windy too.
To be continued over the next few days: »The sky is grey-on-grey, with almost nothing to be seen of the sun.
It rains again and again, and there are repeated occasional sleet thunderstorms towards the North Sea,” added the expert.
On the highest peaks of the low mountain ranges, it could even snow at times in the new week.
In the Alps, the snow line drops to well below 1500 meters.
According to Dietzsch, it will remain mild for the longest time in Lusatia at almost 20 degrees at the beginning.
After that, the maximum temperatures will drop everywhere.
In the middle of the week they level off between about 8 and 14 degrees during the day.
