It's been six months since the reboot of the ARD crime series "Murder with a View": The cast changed, as did the type of characters.
The new edition was apparently popular with the public: in a press release, ARD now reported that "Murder with a View" would be continued.
Another season will be shown from spring 2024.
The shooting of the 13 episodes is planned for 2023.
According to ARD, an average of more than six million viewers saw the crime series in the main evening program.
There were also around 400,000 viewers via the media library.
The series was still well ahead of »Die Heiland – Wir sind Rechtsanwälte« and »Veterinarian Dr.
Mertens«, with a little less than five million viewers.
According to ARD, repeats were "very popular with the public even years after the premiere," it says there.
The new season of the series is planned with the same cast: with Katharina Wackernagel as chief inspector Marie Gabler, Sebastian Schwarz as police inspector Heino Fuss and Eva Bühnen as inspector candidate Jenny Dickel.
For the sequel, ARD again announced the “strangest crime cases in the region”, with professional disputes between Gabler and Fuss.
The first three seasons of the crime series Murder with a View were broadcast on German television from 2008.
The film »A Murder with a View« was also shown in 2015.
A new edition started in spring 2022: the previous actors Caroline Peters, Bjarne Mädel and Meike Droste were replaced, and some of the characters' names changed.
