In this country, birds have a hard time finding suitable hiding places where they feel comfortable.

But there are some measures to make it easier for them.

Birds chirping in the garden: For many hobby gardeners, this is like music to their ears.

If there are a lot of them, that's a good sign.

Apparently the birdies feel particularly comfortable with you in the green at home.

But if you want more birds in your garden, you can use a few strategies to attract them.

After all, many of them are withdrawing more and more, as wide concrete areas, agriculture and climate change mean that robins and co. are being pushed further and further out of their former territories.

The reason for this is that they simply cannot find any more food.

But garden owners can help here.

A bird house, a feed dispenser or a water point are praiseworthy and already an important first step.

Nevertheless, it is also important to create a habitat for the birds that has remained as natural as possible.

Sonja Dölfel from the State

Association for Bird Protection

in Bavaria therefore advises garden owners to do the following: "Just do nothing at all and let the garden do it yourself - that's a first step."

There is also a lot to consider when it comes to the popular fat balls on trees.

According to the

Naturschutzbund Deutschland

(NABU), the net in which the food is located should not be made of plastic.

The reason for this is simple: the thin little legs and claws of the birds should get tangled up in it more easily and they could even injure themselves in the end.

The birdie especially likes to eat sunflower seeds.

Make sure, however, that the fat ball is not hanging outdoors in such a way that it quickly gets wet.

After all, this can cause mold to form and make tits and co. sick.

In the best case, they hang it up under a roof.

Finally, you should make sure that the birds do not crash into a window while frolicking in your garden.

In order to prevent bird strikes, it is best to stick sample foils to the panes.

Vertical or horizontal dashes and lines that you attach a few centimeters apart are best.
