His recipe entitled 'Middle Eastern Panzarella: cous cous with shrimp and gazpacho' won the palate of the technical jury - chaired by Paolo Marchi and composed of Enzo Vizzari, Fiammetta Fadda and Chiara Maci - and of the popular jury, beating the one prepared by the Palestinian Shady Hasbun, a "couscous that wants to be a falafel",



Pierpaolo Ferracuti was awarded on the stage in Piazza Santuario by the mayor of San Vito Lo Capo Giuseppe Peraino and by Luciano Pollini, CEO of Bia cous cous, main sponsor of the festival.



"This victory - said Ferracuti - is a great emotion that I did not expect but the best thing was the collaboration that was created in the kitchen between us chefs, a beautiful harmony and then the air of celebration and the joy that reigns in San Vito Lo Capo ".



According to Paolo Marchi "Italy wins an edition of the Cous Cous Fest pulled as it rarely happened before, almost a parity between an excellent interpretation of the Arab tradition and the elegance of tricolor creativity. Pierpaolo Ferracuti has the merit of having brought a popular dish in the category of haute cuisine ".
