The Japanese take to the streets against the state funeral for Shinzo Abe, the former prime minister who was murdered during a rally on 8 July.
According to some polls published by the local media, more than 50% of the population would be against the state funeral.
Among the main reasons given, the high costs of the event, estimated by the government at 1.65 billion yen (about 12 million euros).
The first cost estimates - which include reception and security services - made in July stood at around 250 million yen, a much lower figure.
At the funeral ceremony, which will start on 27 September, 4,300 participants are expected, including 700 foreigners.
About fifty leaders or former leaders of foreign countries, from US Vice President Kamala Harris to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from European Council President Charles Michel to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
