(ANSA) - TEHRAN, SEPTEMBER 26 - The Iranian authorities arrested another 450 protesters in the north of the country, where more than 700 people have already been arrested in recent days for participating in the protests following the death of 22-year-old MahsaAmini while she was in the custody of the moral police because he would not have worn the veil correctly.
"In the last days of unrest, 450 rioters were arrested in Mazandaran," said the provincial attorney general, Mohammad Karimi, quoted by the official news agency Irna.
On Saturday, authorities reported 739 protesters arrested, including 60 women in Guilan, the province bordering Mazandaran in the north of the country.
According to the NGO Iran Human Rights, based in Oslo, at least 57 protesters were killed.
