At least 76 people have died in Iran due to the harsh repression of the protests following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while she was in the custody of the moral police because she would not have worn the veil correctly.
This was stated by an NGO of Iranians in exile, Iran Human Rights, based in Oslo.
Iranian authorities arrested another 450 protesters in the north of the country, where more than 700 people have already been arrested in recent days for participating in the protests following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the moral police because she would not correctly worn the veil.
"In the last days of unrest, 450 rioters have been arrested in Mazandaran," said the provincial attorney general, Mohammad Karimi, quoted by the official Irna news agency.
On Saturday, authorities reported 739 protesters arrested, including 60 women in Guilan, the province bordering Mazandaran in the north of the country.
According to the NGO Iran Human Rights, based in Oslo, at least 57 demonstrators were killed.
