Concerts by Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters have been canceled by Krakow City Council.
On Sunday, the bassist of the psychedelic rock band posted a statement on Facebook in which he accused one of the members of the Polish municipality, Lukasz Wantuch, of
“draconianly censoring”
his work.
The Krakow city council must also vote this week on a motion declaring Roger Waters
“persona non grata”.
One of the city council members, Lukasz Wantuch, called on the townspeople to boycott his concerts.

This appeal follows statements deemed complacent vis-à-vis Russia regarding the war in Ukraine.
In an open letter in early September, the British musician called on the West to stop delivering arms to Ukraine.
He thereby accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of having tolerated
"extreme nationalism".
Going so far as to ask the latter to put an end to
"this murderous war"
.
In response to this missive, the concert organizer, Live Nation Polska, wrote on Twitter on September 24 that the concerts scheduled for April 2023 in the city's main sports hall had been canceled, without further details.
Currently touring the United States, Roger Waters denied on Facebook Polish media claims that his band had given up on these concerts in Krakow.
“Lukasz Wantuch seems to know nothing of my story.
All my life I have worked, at the cost of certain personal sacrifices, in the service of human rights
,” said the singer-songwriter.
Paraphrasing the lyrics to Pink Floyd's smash hit
Another Brick in the Wall
, the musician added,
“Hey!
Lukasz Wantuch!
Leave the kids alone!”
.
He said he only wanted to call on the countries involved
"to work towards a negotiated peace rather than escalating the situation to an even worse outcome."
