The keyboarder of the Austrian band Wanda, Christian Hummer, died at the age of 32.
The musician died after a long, serious illness, his four colleagues announced on Monday evening.
"There are no words that can do justice to this loss," wrote the Austrian band on Monday evening (September 26, 2022) about the death of their keyboardist Christian Hummer on the group's Instagram and Facebook pages.
“Christian was a gifted musician and a wonderful person.
His enthusiasm for music and his devotion to people made him so endearing.
Our thoughts and sympathy are with his family.
Christian's music, his love and his sense of humor will always remain in our hearts." The musicians also ask in the postings to "respect the grief and privacy of the family and the band." At the same time, all activities planned for this week will be carried out by Wanda cancelled.
New Wanda album is scheduled for release on September 30, 2022
This also applies to the release of Wanda's new studio album: the Austrians' fifth studio record is scheduled for release on Friday, September 30, 2022.
Wanda around singer and frontman Michael Marco Fitzthum was founded in Vienna in 2012.
The debut album "Amore" was released two years later.
With songs like "Amore", "Bologna" or "Bussi Baby", Wanda not only gained a large fan base in Austria, but also in Germany and Switzerland.
The band last played in Munich this August at the “The Roofs” festival as part of the European Championships.
