Allergy sufferers who recently bought spinach from Rewe should be careful: the vegetable may contain an undesirable ingredient.
Ratingen / Munich - Be careful when buying spinach - this applies to all allergy sufferers who shop at Rewe.
The frozen food manufacturer Ardo has started a limited recall for the product "Rewe Beste Wahl, leaf spinach portioned".
Only 500 gram products with the best before date (MHD) June 2024, the production batch 142174 and the EAN article number 4337256041294 are affected, the company in Ratingen announced on Tuesday.
An ingredient accidentally got into the spinach
The reason for the recall is a certain ingredient that was unintentionally found in the spinach.
The company states: "It cannot be ruled out that individual packages contain creamed spinach that contains the undeclared allergen milk." People who are allergic to cow's milk should not consume the spinach with the affected BBD.
This Rewe spinach contains an unwanted ingredient and is partially recalled.
The packs were immediately withdrawn from sale.
Customers can return the product they have already bought in the store and get a refund of the purchase price even without a receipt.
