Revolt is mounting in Russia, where public protests have taken place daily since Vladim announced partial mobilization

A video shared by the Reuters agency shows a Russian mother strongly questioning a deputy in Nalchik, in the Caucasus region, on Monday (September 26th) about the partial mobilization of Russian troops announced by President Vladimir Putin.

“Ukraine has not been part of the USSR for a long time,” she adds.

Indris Tlupov, the deputy head of administration of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria (KRB), reportedly threatened the protester with criminal sanctions for expressing her opinion.

Other opponents around took part in the altercation: “Why are you the ones who are worried and it is we who should go?

“says a man.

2,400 arrests in Russia

In Yakutsk, central Siberia, women protested peacefully on September 25, dancing and singing traditional Russian music.

24 demonstrators were reportedly arrested following this rally.

Since the announcement of the partial mobilization on September 21, many demonstrations have taken place in Russia to oppose it.

A protest immediately repressed by the police.

2,400 demonstrators have been arrested since this announcement.
