The Bank of England intervenes in support of British government bonds, hit by a shower of sales after the maxi-fiscal stimulus plan wanted by the Government.
The central bank has announced that it will make unlimited purchases of long-term securities, and has postponed the 30-year Gilt auction that was scheduled for this morning to October 31.
