Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton talked about bold decisions in a joint interview with her daughter Chelsea.
"Personally, I have to say that the bravest thing was that I stayed in my marriage," the 74-year-old told the magazine "Bunte".
“It was a real challenge and incredibly hard.
But it was the right decision for me and I have no regrets," Clinton said of her relationship with former US President Bill Clinton, to whom she has been married since 1975.
An affair with then intern Monica Lewinsky, which the president tried to keep secret, led to impeachment proceedings in 1998 on suspicion of perjury and obstruction of justice.
The process failed, and Bill Clinton remained in office until 2001.
Hillary Clinton said her boldest professional decision was her own candidacy.
“It was also incredibly tough, but looking back it was a wonderful experience.
I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to do this.«
Hillary Clinton ran as the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2016 election, but lost to Donald Trump at the time.
Chelsea Clinton, 42, said living her own life was the bravest thing to do, "no matter how much public pressure I've had."
Chelsea is the only child of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
