Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds, 45, and Hugh Jackman, 53, announced Wolverine's appearance in "Deadpool 3" with a funny video.
In the clip, Reynolds laments that he's been working on the "Deadpool" sequel for a long time now, but just doesn't have any good ideas.
"But we had an idea," Reynolds says to the camera as Jackman walks through the frame behind him. "Hey, Hugh, do you want to play Wolverine again?".
"Sure thing, Ryan," was the terse reply.
The video ends with the circular Deadpool logo being scratched by Wolverine's razor-sharp metal claws, with a nod to a theatrical release date of September 6, 2024. Reynolds, Jackman and the Deadpool film series linked the clip on Twitter.
Jackman last showed his claws in »Logan« (2017).
After several comic book adaptations, this should actually be the Australian's final Wolverine appearance.
As the Marvel anti-hero in the black and red costume, Reynolds had great success with »Deadpool« (2016) and »Deadpool 2« (2018).
The Canadian first embodied the role in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a prequel to the X-Men trilogy, with Jackman as Wolverine.
Nothing was initially known about the start of shooting of »Deadpool 3«.
Director is Shawn Levy (»Night at the Museum«, »Free Guy«) on board.
