(ANSA) - CATANIA, SEPTEMBER 28 - Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Catania are carrying out a precautionary custody order against over 30 suspects of the Santapaola-Ercolano gang.
The investigation by the DDA, dominated by 'Sangueblu', shed light on the recent evolution of the dynamics of the 'family' of the Cosa Nostra Etna, also identifying its top elements.
The provision of the investigating judge hypothesizes, in various titles, the crimes of mafia association and external competition, extortion, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition and participation in the fraudulent transfer of values, aggravated by the mafia method.
The operation involves 250 carabinieri from the Etna provincial command who are carrying out the ordinance in the provinces of Catania, Prato, L'Aquila, Enna, Perugia, ViboValentia,
Palermo, Benevento, Syracuse and Avellino.
