"She's a born teacher," say Viktoria Lauterbach (right) and husband Heiner about multi-talent Anke Engelke.

The comedian's course includes the art of improvisation.

Sing like Jonas Kaufmann or be funny like Anke Engelke?

Anyone who wants to learn this can now do so in the online courses of the "Meet your Master" project.

Viktoria Lauterbach set it up.

And we tested it!

Learning to act from film and TV star Heiner Lauterbach, singing from tenor Jonas Kaufmann, humor and the talent to improvise from comedy queen Anke Engelke.

Sounds like a fixed idea?

It was, too – but now it's much more.

A successful start-up, if you will.

A platform on the Internet, with videos from the same experts like Lauterbach and Co., who pass on their knowledge, their experience and, last but not least, their own story to people who want to continue their education, broaden their horizons or discover new fields for themselves.

"Meet your Master": Learn from the best!

The initiators, head and heart of "Meet Your Master", as it is called, are Heiner Lauterbach and his wife Viktoria, both of whom are extremely ambitious themselves.

The motto is not for nothing: learn from the best.

The idea came to her a few years ago, says Viktoria Lauterbach in an interview with our newspaper.

When there were repeated requests from acting students to her husband to support her.

Or when she herself observed how he, the experienced one, helped and stood by their daughter in learning the lines for a role.

Eventually, the vague idea – “something has to be done with it” – took shape, and the acquisition of experts started – and well.

“Anke Engelke was hooked as soon as we asked her.

With others like the successful author Sebastian Fitzek, who teaches writing, it took a little longer,” Lauterbach recalls.

At some point, however, the first videos were shot.

And how!

The production of the educational films is extremely high quality, the quality is cinema level.

"This is very important to us," says Lauterbach.

“And it also sets us apart.

Otherwise people can watch YouTube right away.” A course consisting of videos of up to eight or nine hours in total and made available to the user for 89 euros, including the manual, costs between 250,000 and 300,000 euros to produce.

Around 30 employees are busy with each production for about half a year, even if it is "only" three or sometimes four days that they shoot with the masters themselves.

Financially, she and her husband made advance payments to realize the project.

"At first we paid for everything out of our own pockets because we are convinced that it is important to pass on knowledge," says Viktoria Lauterbach.

In the future, however, they would be looking for investors to expand the portfolio.

So far, 14 masters have belonged to the team, including Til Schweiger (filmmaking), Professor Harald Lesch (science) and Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt (orthopaedics).

Thomas Gottschalk, Florian Langenscheidt, Jürgen Klopp and others will soon be added.

One thing must be clear to those who are interested: the videos are a one-way street.

There is no interaction with the teachers.

"'Meet Your Master' is not a substitute for training," says Lauterbach, adding that it is an additional product for people

who never tire of learning.

Just like Viktoria Lauterbach herself, by the way.
