(ANSA) - NAPLES, 28 SEPTEMBER - "We feel abandoned to ourselves, we ask that the new government pay due attention to these realities".
The mayor of Melito, LucianoMottola, launches an appeal to the state after the murder in the school yard of the teacher Marcello Toscano.
"It becomes really difficult to administer these territories and their difficulties having six traffic police and a few carabinieri. As I wrote this morning in a post on social media I keep feeling small, not being able to respond as mayor to the just instances of my fellow citizens. We are a municipality in financial distress and this still limits our possibilities are better, but those in charge of public order at the national level do not understand that there is a need for a strong deployment of order force ".
According to the mayor, there was no video surveillance system in the school where the crime took place, "an obscure point from a bureaucratic point of view".
"There is the temptation for many mayors of the district to close the Municipality and give the keys to the Minister of the Interior", concludes Mottola.
