(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 28 - Today the Ukrainian region of Zaporizhzhia, occupied by Russian troops, will ask the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, to be "admitted" to Russia: the Russian agency Tass writes.
Zaporizhzhia, together with the regions of Kherson, Lugansk and Donetsk, held a referendum for the annexation, which ended yesterday and rejected as a "farce" by Kiev and by the majority of the international community.
"On September 28, the authorities of the Zaporizhzhia region will turn to Putin with a request to accept the region in the Russian Federation," writes Tass, citing the head of the pro-Russian regional authorities Vladimir Rogov.
