Special Envoy to Bologna (Italy)
To finance the preservation of the sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Boscoreale and Stabiae, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples extracted a batch of 35 frescoes from its reserves (with objects three times more numerous than what is usually shown in its rooms).
Through a private producer, the museum events company MondoMostre, he toured this set in the United States (Oklahoma City then New York).
And exhibits it now, enriched with other pieces, in Bologna, in the vast volumes of the partner museum: the Civic Archaeological Museum, located a stone's throw from Piazza Maggiore, in the heart of the city, in Palazzo Galvani, jewel of the Fifteenth century.
We thus have here, in some 130 small or large frescoes, almost half of which have never left the surroundings of Vesuvius even after their discovery in the 18th century, a unique panorama of the art of painting in ancient Roman society.
