Happy birthday Altan.
Pimpa and Cipputi's father turns 80 today, and an exhibition celebrating his career comes to pay homage to him.
"Francesco Tullio Altan, Pimpa and her friends" is scheduled in Pordenone, which opens on Saturday 8 October in the Sagittaria Gallery of the Student House, for the 14th edition of "Sentieri Illustrati".
The exhibition itinerary will offer young readers a first playful-immersive part in which Pimpa will welcome them: you can enter Pimpa's small house or devote yourself to reading the illustrated books that see her as the protagonist.
In the atrium that precedes the Gallery, some of the stripes by Trino and Cipputi will be presented, lightning micro-stories that have made famous Altan's essential style and his ability to return the 'humanae res', vignette format.
Finally you will enter Altan's creative laboratory: on a wall the story in which Armando discovers the Pimpa among the leaves of a bush is exhibited, in the same room you will find some storyboards, the original tables and a visual sequence of the comic "supply chain" by Altan, the process that leads from the sketch to the table.
If Pimpa came to light from the pencil of the designer in 1975, to tell new stories to her daughter Kika, Armando, the cat Rosita, the mouse Sandro, the calf Vito, the Colombino, the Bunny also arrived soon after.
A very sweet microcosm, which for almost forty years has fascinated children, and guides them in a joyful world of continuous discovery.
