A solar system on the roof must be aligned in such a way that neighbors are not unreasonably dazzled.
This was decided by the Frankenthal District Court in a civil proceeding.
Accordingly, it is about a dispute among neighbors in Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
The plaintiffs reported that they were blinded by the system in the garden and on the terrace.
The reflection also affects the living room, dining area and hallway of your house.
An expert commissioned by the court analyzed the situation.
Their conclusion: In the summer months, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., there is direct sunlight reflection on the plaintiff’s house.
The reflection is almost as bright as looking at the sun itself. Glare leads to temporary impairment of vision.
According to the court, the neighbors cannot be expected not to be able to use the terrace during this period and to have to darken the interior with roller shutters.
The judges explained that there are also special modules for solar systems whose surfaces reflect the light less strongly.
The judgment is final.
