Three weeks after the death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, the Scottish National Archives have released the Queen's death certificate.

The document shows that the 96-year-old died of old age.

Her life ended on September 8 at 3:10 p.m. local time, i.e. 4:10 p.m. German time.

Around three and a half hours later, the palace informed the public.

The Queen "died peacefully at Balmoral Castle".

The Queen's daughter Anne informed authorities of the death, according to the document.

"I was lucky enough to spend the last 24 hours of my mother's life with her," Anne had already explained.

The Queen was buried on September 19 in a historic state funeral in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The castle and the church where she was buried have been open to visitors again since Thursday.
