The new real estate hit, 'student housing' using the BOT method in which the developer finances, builds and operates, such as Route Six) - issues real estate, academic and social news.

This is a first-of-its-kind residential and academic complex in HIT, and the first of its kind in the city of Holon, which provides an opportunity for relocation and studies for male and female students from all parts of the country, especially from the north and south.

The new complex covers 7 dunams and includes approximately 20,000 built-up square meters, adjacent to the future metro station. The company that built the complex is Solel Bona from the Shikun Vabinoi group, which won the tender for the financing, planning, construction and operation of student dormitories, in the scope of about NIS 200 million, some of which is funded by HIT and the Planning and Budgeting Committee.

"Making Higher Education Accessible"

In the first cycle, about 500 HIT students from all parts of the country will live in the dormitories - starting with the residents of the northern Golan Heights, the settlements along the border of Lebanon and the Galilee, and ending with students from Eilat, the Arabah, and the Negev.

Some of the students who will live in the dormitories are continuing students in HIT.

These students tell about the transportation difficulty they experienced on the way to the institute and back home by public and private transportation.

For these students this is huge news, since starting next year they will study in the complex adjacent to the campus and at the same time adjacent to the central square of Holon.

The dormitories include a variety of apartment types.

Among others: apartments for individuals and couples, apartments for two partners and apartments for three partners.

Each apartment has a bathroom and a shower.

Each student gets his own room (except apartments for couples).

The size of the apartments, starting from 20 square meters for single apartments up to 69 square meters for apartments with three partners.

The monthly rent in the dormitories starts at about NIS 1,345.

"Great news for the city of Holon"

The complex was designed by the firm 'Kika Baraz Architects and City Planners', which deals with architecture, urban development, urban renewal, commerce and offices. The firm's architects chose a structure split into three fingers connected by bridges. Thanks to this structure, most of the housing units will benefit from two or even three air directions. In the complex There will also be a student club and a 1,200 square meter commercial complex, which will have, among other things, fast food stores, a mini market, a hair salon and a pizza shop.

Next to the residential buildings, there is a park that includes lawns, sitting areas, shaded areas and more.

At the end of the complex is the 'Hayir Square'.

Professor Edward Yaakovov, president of HIT Holon Institute of Technology

: "We bring great news to the city of Holon. The HIT student dormitories will catapult the city's economy forward. The dormitories are a source of tremendous pride for us and fulfill our vision of making high quality education accessible to students from all over the country. We are convinced that this is an achievement for the city of Holon, which is becoming an academic city thanks to The significant development of HIT. The importance of the dormitories is amplified in view of the increase in housing prices. Our dormitories will enable a realistic and genuine residential option for young people from the north and south who are interested in studying technology."
