Futurism and the others, thus the avant-garde was born

In its first five years of life, Futurism thus built the foundations of a revolution destined to shake the scene by making a clean square of tradition in the name of dynamism, modernity and a vision of art capable of involving and changing every aspect of daily life.

The exhibition Futurism is dedicated to the analysis of this crucial phase.

The birth of the avant-garde 1910-1915 '

   Masterpieces by Medardo Rosso and Pellizza da Volpedo from the early 1900s flow alongside Balla, Carrà, and a rare nocturnal by GinoSeverini from 1906. Boccioni's 18 works include the famous sculpture 'Unique forms in the continuity of space' ( 1913) which comes from Holland, and the 'Female Head' of 1911, 'twin' of the one painted in Profumo by Luigi Russolo of the previous year.

The narrative deals with all the themes that connote the avant-garde, Spiritualism;

the Dynamism, the Modern Life, the simultaneity, the Polimaterism and the three-dimensionality, the wordless tables, the War to which a different futurism will follow.

    It is no coincidence, however, that it is Balla, who has become the undisputed leader, who opens and closes the exhibition, first with the divisionist portrait of Roesler Franz (1902) and finally with the triumph of the last room, with 20 works to seal the " Futurist reconstruction of the universe ", among the drawings for clothes, furnishings and furniture, a tapestry, up to the monumental Futurist Genius of 1925, a sort of new and abstract Vitruvian Man who held up the name of Italy at the Paris exhibition where Art Déco was born .
