This was stated by Putin's number one opponent, Alexey Navalny, during a trial by intervening in a video link from the prison where he is being held for political reasons.
"Innocent people will die in the trenches," Navalny said.
The Mediazona newspaper reports it.
Navalny has sued the administration of the prison in which he is being held under a harsh regime, which he accuses of violating his rights.
