(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 30 - The Norwegian government has announced that it is strengthening controls on the border with Russia.
"If necessary, we will close the border quickly and changes can come at short notice," said Justice and Emergency Minister Emilie Enger Mehl.
"Mobilization in Russia and a possible travel ban for Russian citizens increase the risk of illegal border crossing on the Norwegian-Russian border outside the Storskog border crossing," the Oslo government said in a statement.
From today a police helicopter with sensor will operate in the Finnmark district.
