On October 1st, the world celebrates International Coffee Day.
In Italy, the Network of Communities of the Rite of Espresso Coffee promotes a series of joint initiatives that will take place from North to South, carried out by the 11 emblematic communities that support the candidacy of espresso as an intangible heritage of humanity.
Objective: to collect signatures, on the web through the website www.ritodelcaffe.it in support of the candidacy, so as to make the rituality of Italian espresso coffee, with its wealth of intangible meanings, Unesco heritage and sign the Charter of Values.
The emblematic communities of Turin, Milan, Venice, Trieste, Bologna, Rome, Naples, Lecce, Pescara, Palermo, Modica that support the dossier will be the scene of various initiatives, in Venice for example free visits to the Florian café;
in Bologna cognitive, experiential and sensorial paths of coffee with the participation of the actor., and in Palermo the history of coffee from its origins to today will be illustrated in a multisensory tour discovering the different nuances of taste from north to south of Italy at the Fabbrica Morettino museum.
In addition, in Trieste, Rome, Lecce "special" coffee preparations at famous brands such as Giolitti Antica Gelateria Pasticceria, in the heart of the capital.
Among the cult addresses in Naples, the Gran Caffè Gambrinus, with the participation of Giuseppe Ambrosio, Director General of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
Various initiatives are planned: demonstration area of the different coffee extraction techniques;
exhibition area with antique San Marco museum coffee machines and coffee makers and grinders.
In other cities, also thanks to Fipe, to the Historical Places of Italy Association, to some Museums dedicated to the history of coffee, as well as to individual initiatives, events aimed at collecting signatures will be held in support of the candidacy and the rite of the Suspended Coffee will be supported.
