The US women's team won the basketball world title for the fourth time in a row by pulverizing China (83-61).
For the USA there are 11 world titles (in 19 editions) and they have not suffered defeats in the competition since the 2006 semifinal against Russia (when they lost 75-68).
Since then, 30 wins in a row have come.
Their match against Russia was also their latest setback in a major international competition (Olympic Games and World Cup), where their streak extends to 60 games.
Winners of gold in the last seven Olympics, the Americans are only one world title from the USSR record, which won five in a row between 1959 and 1975.
Although rejuvenated (only one player over 30) and renewed compared to Tokyo 2021, with a new manager (Cheryl Reeve) and without the legendary Sue Bird (retired) and Diana Taurasi (injured), the "Team USA" dominated, closing the tournament with the best attack (92.5 points on average per game), the best defense (55 points) and winning his eight games with an average difference of 40 points.
