Wine for the weekend: Galil Mountains Winery, Or, Barbara 2020
It's a little less hot now, although the sweat is still here and occasionally the stickiness returns, but you already feel a small breeze in the morning and even in the evening.
Which means you can already drink red wine without choking in the middle of the glass.
'Galil Mountains, Or Barbara 2020'.
What a fun wine, full of flavor but not kicking.
The sourness we know from this variety provides a backbone for the wine's extraordinary flavor display.
Sour cherry together with black plum, perfumed blossoms and local herbs in freshness and lightness.
The price:
65 shekels.

Spirit for the weekend: Arak Yoda
We said it's not so hot anymore, but in the afternoon on the balcony or in the shade, you still need something colder and refreshing, so why not invest in a good jacket?
On his label it says that Yoda loved the sea and the sea loved him back.
For me, the balcony is also enough.
Distillation of white and sweet grapes together with fine anise seeds create here an aniseed arrack full of flavor but not burdensome or tiring, just precise and suitable for any weather.
A little water and then some ice (order is important!) and you don't need much more.
40% alcohol.
The price:
55 - 60 NIS

Place for the weekend: Republic, Hod Hasharon
Republic is an excellent and accurate brasserie in a commercial area in Hod Hasharon with a pleasant family atmosphere and professional service.
A place for full family meals (there is a gluten-free menu) or just for casual entertainment at the bar.

It is enough to take a bar snack like Lebanese lamb pockets, seared on the plancha with bharte, white and tomato salsa and pine nuts, next to a cold beer or a cocktail called 'Bitter True' which is based on Campari, orange, gin, a little passion fruit and a refreshing red grapefruit sorbet.
