The month of October is breast cancer awareness month, and many companies in Israel join campaigns on the subject • The Tel Aviv Museum will be lit up in pink • The Lelin company will offer a pink mask and donate profits to raise awareness • And the Maimon spices company will change the caps to a pink color

The month of October is breast cancer awareness month, and has been celebrated in recent years in Israel and around the world.

Many companies in the economy change their logo to pink, which is the color that symbolizes the struggle, launch special products in these colors, donate part of the revenue to raise awareness and fund research on the subject, and bring the issue to the public discourse.

Breast cancer is the most common type among women in Israel, and each year approximately 5,500 new breast cancer patients are diagnosed.

25% of patients are under the age of 50, and about a thousand women die from the disease every year.

Early detection of breast cancer can save lives, with a 92 percent cure rate for women who detect the disease early.

A prominent symbol of the struggle is a pink ribbon - officially adopted in 1992.

It came after the red ribbon that indicates awareness and support in the fight against AIDS.

The film was created and distributed in stores that same year by Alexandra Penny, editor of the women's health magazine "Self" and Evelyn Lauder, a breast cancer survivor and VP of the Estée Lauder cosmetics company. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the pink film, and the Estée Lauder company supports the campaign and leads it again this year. The company runs the campaign in 70 countries, and so far has raised over 108 million dollars to support research, and more than 180 million pink ribbons have been distributed worldwide.

As part of the campaign, the Tel Aviv Museum will be lit up in pink from September 22, until October 31.

200 more sites will be lit up in pink this month around the world, including the Empire State Building in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sydney Opera House, the Tokyo Tower in Japan, Schonborn Castle and more.

In addition, the company is launching a special pink edition of its iconic care products, with 30 percent of the profits going to the Cancer Society.

In addition, 50 percent of the profits will be donated to the "One in Nine" association, which helps women dealing with breast cancer and their relatives, and works to raise awareness of the disease.

The pink chair collection is launched under the concept "Sit a moment - this moment may save your life".

The edition is produced for the third year in cooperation with the association.

The pink chairs will be offered for sale in the chain of Keter stores nationwide and online, with all proceeds going to the association and promoting early detection of breast cancer.
