Turkish musician Onur Sener died in Ankara as a result of an attack after his performance.
Sener did not fulfill a music request from the audience and was then attacked, the broadcaster CNN Türk reported on Monday.
He died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Five suspects were brought before the magistrate, the state news agency Anadolu reported.
According to Turkish media reports, two of the people have now been conditionally released.
The incident happened on Sunday in a restaurant in the Turkish capital.
The musician did not fulfill a music request because he did not know the song, according to CNN Türk.
A subsequent argument degenerated into a brawl, in the course of which the musician was injured by a glass bottle in the neck.
However, there are divergent accounts.
Some Turkish newspapers and websites reported that Sener refused to sing a particular song without "karaoke" - which could mean playback.
The singer decided to have a guest who should not interfere in his job.
The dispute that followed then escalated.
indignation at the incident
Three men from a group of five are the main suspects.
Two are said to have accused the third of attacking the singer with a broken glass bottle, saying they were just trying to stop him.
The accused denies this and claims not to know who fatally injured the musician.
Onur Sener, 45, has had a certain level of prominence in Turkey since he took part in the TV show »Ses Türkiye« (equivalent to »Voice of Germany«) nine years ago.
The ballad »Sel Suyu« (loosely translated: »Flood«) became his biggest hit.
He performed live both alone and with a band and rocking songs.
He leaves behind a minor daughter.
Artists, politicians and journalists, among others, expressed their indignation at the incident on social media.
Some associated this with criticism of the government and accused it, among other things, of stirring up hostility among the population.
