(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 03 - During the Covid period, the number of NEETs increased, young adults who do not have a job or follow a school or training course for extended periods.
In its annual report 'Education at a Glance 2022' the OECD notes that the share of NEETs between the ages of 25 and 29 in Italy was already increasing to 31.7% during the Covid pandemic in 2020, and has continued to increase. up to 34.6% in 2021. In this age group there are more women (39%) than men.
For young people between 20 and 24, the share decreased between 2019 and 2020 from 28.5% to 27.4%, and increased to 30.1% in 2021. (ANSA).
