The verdict is in.
On Monday, Médiamétrie published the audiences for the month of September for DTT channels… and we were able to clearly measure the impact of the black screen imposed by Canal+ on the channels of the TF1 group.
Last month, the audience for the TF1 channel fell by 2.3 points, representing a loss of 11.5% in audience.
A veritable industrial accident for the front page, which hit its historic low, at 17.7% of the audience against 20% a year earlier!
Within the group's channel package (TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI), TF1, the flagship, was the most affected.
General-interest channel, present in all homes, with a slightly older audience, it had to bear the double penalty.
On the one hand, the suppression of its signal on the TNT Sat platform, operated by Canal+, hit hard 2 million households in hard-to-reach areas who only have this means to watch TV.
That's half of the audience loss.
