Capuchin monkey mourns foster mother - and is urgently looking for a new home

The foster mother of the capuchin monkey "Pongo" is dead. The elderly monkey is now looking for a new home, otherwise it will have to be put down.

According to reports from the

, the monkey foster mother died almost two weeks ago from a severe lung disease.
Since then, the 22-year-old monkey has not been doing well.
Not only does he suffer from the loss of his mistress, but he also has to move soon.
Because Andrea's partner is ill himself and cannot take care of the animal.

The aged capuchin monkey is therefore urgently looking for a new home.
According to the

, her partner Kemal Tosun finds it difficult to have to give "Pongo" away.
Lutz had rescued the monkey from a zoo in Zeiskam when he was a small animal because he didn't get along with his fellows there.

"They have been inseparable ever since.
Pongo is now sorely lacking such a reference person," Tosun told

.
In the long run, the monkey needs someone who is there for it around the clock, the 64-year-old continues.
The search for a new, species-appropriate place for the monkey has so far been unsuccessful.

Andrea Lutz had built a monkey paradise with its own room and outdoor enclosure for "Pongo" on her property, reports
