The Polish manufacturer Greenyard Frozen Poland has detected increased amounts of pesticides in its frozen tart cherries.

Frozen fruit contaminated: That's what the manufacturer says about the reasons for the recall
In a statement, the manufacturer from Poland states that increased levels of dimethoate and omethoate have been found in the fruit.
Dimethoate and omethoate are used as pesticides in agriculture, among other things.
A health risk cannot be ruled out by eating sour cherries, so eating sour cherries is strongly discouraged.
Furthermore, the manufacturer Greenyard Frozen Poland Sp. z oo apologizes to the buyers of the product affected by the current recall for the inconvenience.

Recall: Pesticides in tart cherries - Therefore the product should not be consumed
Dimethoate and omethoate are both pesticides.
If they get into food, it can cause a wide variety of symptoms.
In too high a concentration they can cause poisoning.

Kaufland, the German distributor of sour cherries, reacted immediately.
In the manufacturer's statement, Kaufland writes that the cherries affected by the recall can be returned to all Kaufland branches.
This also works if you can no longer show the receipt.
In the branches, customers are reimbursed for the purchase price of the affected sour cherries.
Food recalls happen all the time.
