Energy, Meloni: 'We will support any action against speculation'

2022-10-04T13:44:06.532Z

"We are mainly working on expensive bills, we need to understand how to deal with the next three months". (HANDLE)

"Energy crisis is a European issue and as such must be addressed. Fdi and the Conservatives argue that the real task of the EU should be to manage the great continental challenges that are difficult to face by individual member states. Actions by individual states aimed at exploiting their own strengths risk interfering in the competitiveness of companies and creating distortions in the single European market. We will support any action aimed at combating speculative phenomena and unjustified increases in the cost of energy and we will support shared initiatives of concrete help to families and businesses ".

So Meloni, on facebook

"The presence of the President of the Republic Mattarella in Assisi and the offer of oil by the Italian Bishops' Conference to pay homage to the Italians who, during the pandemic, put their lives at the service of others remind us of the importance of that strong sense of community that unites the nation. From here and from the need to contribute to the national interest, despite differences, it is necessary to set out again to face the difficult challenges that Italy is facing ".

Fdi leader Giorgia Meloni last Saturday, on the sidelines of the event organized by Coldiretti in Milan, commented on the appeals launched by farmers and breeders.

"We are mainly working on expensive bills, we need to understand how to deal with the next three months".

Statements that, a note reads, will be broadcast this evening on Retequattro.

Listening to the video message sent by a farmer who claims to work to pay for what he consumes and that the situation is now unsustainable, Meloni said: "I agree. As you saw I said, we are only working on this now, mainly on this. If even these measures, on which in the end I am on average less pessimistic today, even if they arrived, would impact on the bills in a few months, let's say three months. we are primarily working now ".

Finally, on relations with Europe, he explained: "The European matter is decisive because we cannot think that we continue to give money to speculation indefinitely, we do not have it. So the European theme is fundamental, I am in contact every day with the outgoing government to try to understand what the point of fall is ".
