"Let's save our planet": this is the message that will be embroidered on the brand new fleece jacket that 310 students from a school in Périers, in the Manche department, should be wearing in a few weeks.
"Let's save our finances" would have been quite appropriate too.
While the government is calling for "energy sobriety" with the increase in gas, electricity and fuel prices, the mayor of this Normandy town of 2,200 inhabitants is going to lower the school heating and has just ordered 6 000 euros of warm clothes for the children and the staff of the establishment.
