With its five-star cast, the terrible child of French cinema offers a baroque sentimental comedy. Adrien (Pierre Niney), a young and handsome dancer whose career was destroyed by a motorcycle accident, consoles himself with a new vocation as a gigolo on the Côte d'Azur. Maintained by Martha (Isabelle Adjani), an aging glory of cinema, he meets Margot (Marine Vacth), a mysterious and fascinating con artist who has set her sights on a wealthy real estate agent (François Cluzet).

Eager to change their lives, Adrien and Margot will devise a Machiavellian stratagem: a sentimental masquerade made up of amorous manipulations.

How far will they go?

, released in August 2021, Nicolas Bedos quickly moved on to a fourth film,

Masquerade

, shot during this same summer of 2021. Presented out of competition at the 75th Cannes Film Festival last May, this comedy wacky brings together a five-star cast: in addition to the four actors mentioned above, Emmanuelle Devos, Charles Berling and Laura Morante complete the cast.

Nicolas Bedos had originally imagined this story for a novel that he ultimately never published.

Of these shenanigans, crimes and passions, he preferred to make a film.

"It's the very subjective portrait that I wanted to make of the Côte d'Azur, whose name is associated in my mind as much with Francis Scott Fitzgerald and the eccentricity of a decadent elite as with the omnipresence, not long ago, Russian oligarchs, their magnum of champagne in the sun and their competition of real estate vulgarities”, he declared in an interview with the producers Les Films du Kiosque, not without malice.

Release scheduled for November 1st.
