In a major raid on Hamburg's Kiez early in the morning, tax investigators, police and customs officials searched clubs, pubs and brothels in St. Pauli.
A total of 46 search warrants were executed in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Austria, said senior public prosecutor Liddy Oechtering.
The private homes of a total of ten suspects were also searched.
According to the information, the public prosecutor's office is investigating the joint, gang-like evasion of sales tax in the operation of brothels.
This is a high six-digit amount.
