Different prices on the shelf and on the till receipt are not uncommon in supermarkets and discounters.
Kaufland has a clear specification for this.
The consumer center advises to react quickly.
Food prices have been rising again and again since May, as
echo24.de
reported.
Consumers often have to think twice about what to buy and what not to buy.
And now the consumer advice center is also warning of different prices on the supermarket shelf and at the checkout.
How do you deal with the price swindle at the industry giants Kaufland and Lidl?
According to a report by the broadcaster RTL, the complaints have recently been increasing again.
But customers have to put up with the price differences.
The legal situation proves that the companies are almost completely right.
Price fraud in supermarkets: only one offer is displayed on the shelf
As the Berlin consumer center writes, the price on the shelf is not binding.
The broadcaster said: “Price tags are like offers on the Internet: they only invite customers to buy.
Even if there was a different price on the shelf, the supermarket can charge more or less at the checkout.”

However, if such incorrect labeling occurs more frequently, one can assume that the customer was deliberately deceived.
And then it will also be difficult for supermarkets and discounters.
The consumer advice center explains to RTL: "Intentionally incorrect pricing violates legal requirements and is treated as an administrative offense." Certainly not desirable for Kaufland and Lidl.
But what do the two food heavyweights say about such a price swindle?
Kaufland with a clear announcement of price fraud in the supermarket
When asked by
echo24.de
, Kaufland puts customer satisfaction in the foreground: "Our aim is to always offer you a large selection at attractive prices." The subsidiary from the Schwarz Group distances itself from price fraud and explains: "These prices are entered into the system at Kaufland, there are no different awards."
Customers who still don't quite believe in the labels on the shelves can scan and check the products at Kaufland on so-called price checkers or customer terminals.
Meanwhile, Lidl has not yet responded to the request for price deception.

Customers who notice a price difference when paying are advised by the consumer advice center to check directly at the checkout.
The RTL report says: "The supermarket is not obliged to give you the item at a reasonable price.
But you have the right to cancel the purchase.
In the best case, you can check the price directly when scanning the items.
If that is not possible because you are busy packing, the receipt should be checked directly in the shop and the problem pointed out.” Anyone who has already left the branch has little chance of making a complaint.
Kaufland: Customers are also discussing shorter opening times
Customers are currently not only discussing different price labels, but shorter opening hours in the food trade are also an issue.
According to some retailers, this could result in more ways of saving energy.
At Kaufland, the customer is pushed ahead when making a decision.
