We now know the amount.

The State will pay financial aid of 150 euros per month to French families who host Ukrainian refugees, announced Wednesday in a press release the Minister Delegate for the City and Housing Olivier Klein.

"This exceptional financial measure makes it possible to support the outpouring of spontaneous generosity that was observed when the war broke out in Ukraine, a major link in the management of the crisis and the reception of displaced persons" from Ukraine, said underlined the minister quoted in the press release.

On Monday, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne announced before the National Assembly the establishment of financial aid "from the end of November" for French households who "welcome displaced Ukrainians in their homes".

Help to “prevent the reception from collapsing”

“I am thinking of all our fellow citizens who are committed.

We must support them and I confirm the establishment, from the end of November, of aid for our compatriots who are hosting displaced Ukrainians in their homes", declared Élisabeth Borne in the hemicycle, in the introduction to a debate parliamentarian on the situation in Ukraine and its repercussions in France.

Incidentally, the head of government welcomed the reception of more than 100,000 Ukrainians - including 19,000 school children - who organized themselves "quickly, efficiently, with dignity".

In an interview with Le Monde, the prefect Joseph Zimet, who leads the interministerial crisis unit on the reception of Ukrainians, had indicated last July that aid was being studied and should amount to “150 to 200 euros for a few months", in order "to prevent this reception from collapsing".

"Having a Ukrainian household at home for several months creates financial burdens and can lead to a form of weariness," he said.
