Breaking records:
Only two weeks have passed since Netflix uploaded the mini-series about the serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer, and already the show is breaking records.
"Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer" accumulated 299.84 million hours of viewing in the first week of its broadcast.
The amazing statistic places the series as the second most watched program among the English-speaking programs of the giant streaming service in the first week of its broadcast, topped by the fourth season of "Strange Things", which, as I recall, was split into two parts - which gave it a big advantage over its competitors.
Although "Monster" did not reach the top of Netflix's English-language series, in the short time since it was broadcast it managed to reach the ninth place among all the English-language series ever watched on the streaming service, not far behind the eighth place.
These huge numbers are not surprising, as the series achieved 196.2 million views in its first week of broadcast - the highest opening figure ever for a Netflix series in all languages.
As you may recall, the series by director and creator Ryan Murphy follows serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer (played by Emmy Award-winning actor Evan Peters), who lured, murdered and ate 17 men during the years 1978-1991.
Although the series received mixed reviews, the viewing figures prove that it is a huge success - and this is also evident from the existing conversations about it on social networks.
