A shift manager from Bavaria is now reporting on her branch.
Gloves are not used there either.
Munich – The American fast food chain Burger King has recently been heavily criticized.
RTL
research by "Team Wallraff" uncovered significant abuses in the branches at the beginning of October.
A shift manager from the company now reported on the conditions in her own branch.
Burger King scandal: Interview with shift supervisor
The allegations against Burger King were tough: mouse droppings, broken cold chains, supposedly vegan products that are now losing their V-Label, exploitation of employees.
However, the company promised improvement - and immediately closed the affected branches.
Shortly after the RTL
documentary was published, a shift manager at the fast-food restaurant
visited the YouTuber and streamer
zarbex
.
zarbex
then posted the video of the stream
on his You Tube channel.
22-year-old Lina works in a branch in Bavaria and describes herself as the "Burger King Manager".
If you make an effort, she says, it is not "that difficult" to reach this rank.
"Would never be an option for us": 22-year-old reports from a branch in Bavaria
The situation with them is not quite as dramatic as in the now closed branches: "The things that I saw there would never be an option for us," reports the Burger King employee.
But even in your branch, you don't always act meticulously according to the rules.
When transporting and storing food, temperature plays an important role.
The Main-Kinzing district health department warns in this regard: "Inadequate cooling is the main reason for food infections."

However, you don't want to waste food unnecessarily - the 22-year-old says from her branch: "You check whether the food is still good and then the holding time is extended if necessary." However, care is always taken to ensure that the products remain chilled.
Otherwise, you would have an "extreme waste of food," says the shift manager.
"From 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.": Long working hours due to lack of staff
However, Lina can confirm the accusation that working time regulations are not being observed.
The young woman reports that many temporary workers from Albania work in her own branch, but there is still an acute shortage of workers.
The temporary workers "sometimes work almost every day from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.," says the employee in an interview with the streamer.
So far, however, she has hardly been affected.
Employees do not wear gloves - "This is standard"
"Team Wallraff" revealed in the
RTL
documentary, among other things, serious hygiene deficiencies in several Burger King branches.
The shift manager from Bavaria gives the all-clear: Rats and mice have never existed in her branch before.
The fact that employees do not wear gloves, on the other hand, is quite common.
"It's standard," says the employee.
However, food should always be handled with tongs.
- You can only work with your fingers when folding the burgers.
In the event of violations, her boss is strict, says the 22-year-old.
One employee regularly touches chicken nuggets with her fingers.
This colleague has already been pointed out several times.
If her behavior doesn't change, the manager wouldn't hesitate to fire her, says the shift manager.
Burger King only announced a "plant-based revolution" in the summer - now the company has lost the V-Label, customers will probably have to do without the vegan alternatives for the time being.
