When we choose items for the home, we should emphasize the slow design trend - which sanctifies the return to the roots • We have selected interesting products by Israeli designers, which are worth seeing

In recent years there has been a very clear trend of returning to the roots, which touches all areas of life - religion, fashion, theater performances and the world of design.

Slow design, or if you want the SLOW DESIGN, is one of the global design trends, which mark a clear path of returning to the origins and the beginning.

This is a trend that provides a counter-answer to the technological trend.

It concentrates on getting out of the fast insent cycle and concentrates on the connection to manual labor and raw materials in their natural state.

It promotes values of social solidarity, support for the local economy, including the increasing use of local produce - from agricultural produce to local product designers, who design and create items for the home environment.

This trend considers the process that a certain product goes through, from the stages of dreaming about it, to its launch into the world when it is ready to integrate with whoever chooses it to decorate their home.

The process, which in many cases uses natural materials, combines traditional production techniques, brings to light the mindset of the designer who created it, and makes sure that every detail receives the attention it deserves, believing that it should serve its owner for many years.

This is the essence of the idea behind SLOW DESIGN.

Whoever chooses such an item, does not only choose the item, but also the baggage that the item brings with it.

You can go online and choose from an endless supply, and you can more selectively choose items that connect to the place we were or the experience we had.

In this way the choice will be much more meaningful for us.

The home space is a kind of visual timeline, which allows us to place items and souvenirs from different places and experiences we go through.

We don't necessarily have to know the name of the trend.

Many of us act this way naturally and intuitively - the idea of buying with intention, leads more and more people to incorporate items from local product designers in their home space.

When it comes to local creators, you can visit their studio, get to know them personally, find a connection to them through a certain agenda, style or worldview - some are based on ecological design, and others design with a very colorful line that is their identity card and much more.

When we buy from a local designer, we express solidarity, support the local economy and enrich our minds.

We have collected for you interesting options for the integration of local creators in the spaces of private homes.

Living room tables

Two different designers emphasize the wide range of working with material - on the one hand a table based on concrete casting, and on the other hand a pair of tables made of metal legs and a blackened wooden rest surface.

Each table presents a different materiality, which raises different interpretations and design messages.

The pair of living room tables was joined by a chair that makes it possible to recognize the similarity in the design language between it and the tables.

While the tables combine wood and metal, the chair that completes the look combines metal and leather.

A material combination that pours interest into the black color.

Lighting Fixtures

Lighting fixtures can be integrated into the space hanging, placed, attached to the wall or standing.

It is interesting to see how two designers give the lighting fixtures their own interpretation, and imprint their design language on them.

A production technique developed in the COZI studio makes it possible to fold and crease the wood and create amorphous shapes, which over time have become identified with the studio.

Assaf Winbrom, on the other hand, creates with a clean, minimalist line, which fits well into contemporary spaces.

Seating solutions

Popis is one of the favorite products of the Israeli consumer, and you can understand why - it is a casual solution, devoid of formality, that brings a lot of style into the space but with a nonchalant, unobtrusive, warm and enabling tone, just the way the Israelis like it.

The development of Racheli Sharpstein from Reish Studio created an ergonomic pouf, which is adapted to the posture of the body and allows prolonged sitting in comfort.

When it comes to more formal chairs, you can be impressed by chairs designed by Tomer Nachshon.

The chairs combine leather and metal in two different options - high bar chairs and lower dining chairs.

This way you can use chairs with the same design line in the same space.

The height difference between them creates harmony and prevents unnecessary clutter in the space.

Library

A library is a decorative and useful element.

The one that used to be used only for books, serves the living space as a designed element, which integrates various decorative items between its shelves.

Books are an important commodity and it is not recommended to give them up, but the overall look becomes unique when it is also combined with designed color spots.

The library from Studio NACHSHON allows you to design it in accordance with the space in which it is placed - in some cases, you can add pieces of sewn leather to it that will be a stand for wine bottles, place a shelf in accordance with the contents, and more.

Another thing worth paying attention to is the design language that passes between the different items, and makes it possible to recognize the designer's handwriting, even when it comes to different items.

decorative items

Along with the useful items, there are decorative items that are usually a complementary addition, or if you want - a final touch to the resulting look.

Such items are somewhat addictive, and may turn you into a type of collector.

If the friends around you know that you like a certain designer, the dilemma of what to get you as a birthday present will be solved.

These can be decorative mirrors, pillows made of original textiles, Homeristic figures that will raise a smile, and special vases and an italicized hand.
