Almost a year after the death of cinematographer Helena Hutchins on the set of the movie starring the veteran Hollywood actor in the shooting accident, it is now known that his filming will resume

Almost a year after the terrible tragedy on the set of the film Rust in which photographer Helena Hutchins was accidentally shot to death by actor Alec Baldwin, a settlement agreement was signed between her family and Baldwin and the production of the film.

Among the details of the settlement leaked to the media, it was agreed that Hutchins' widower, Matthew Hutchins, will now serve as an executive producer on the film, which will resume shooting in January 2023 with the participation of the original crew.

It was also revealed that the civil lawsuit will be dismissed, but this does not prevent the possibility of additional criminal charges in the tragic case in the future.

In February 2022, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of the family against Baldwin, who according to reports fired the fatal shot with a gun that was used as a prop on the photo set and against the production of the film, in an incident in which the director of the film Joel Souza was also injured, in which it was claimed that the factors responsible for the photo set failed to perform safety checks required on the set.

"We have reached a settlement agreement, subject to court approval, regarding the involuntary manslaughter lawsuit against the producers of 'Rust', including Alec Baldwin and the film's production company," Hutchins said of the signed agreement.

"As part of this settlement, the case will be closed," he added, noting that he sees it as an important step in commemorating the work of his late wife.

"I have no interest in dealing with accusations or looking for culprits," he wanted to emphasize.

"We all believe that Helina's death was a terrible accident. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment industry came together to pay tribute to Helina's final work."

Baldwin himself (who since the incident has had time to give birth to a seventh child), commented on Instagram the statement to the media given by his lawyer, Luke Nikas, and wrote: "We are pleased to announce today the settlement of the civil case filed on behalf of the family of photographer Helena Hutchins. We are grateful to everyone who who contributed to the solution of this tragic and painful situation."

The film's director, Joel Souza, who as mentioned was also injured in the incident, commented on the decision to continue shooting the film and noted that he agreed to return to production only after receiving the family's blessing.

"Although it is sad and bitter, I am happy that together we will complete what Lina and I started," he said in a statement.

"All my efforts on the set will be dedicated to perpetuating Halina's memory and work to make her proud. It's a privilege to do this for her."
