For some she is hope, for others a hate figure: Greta Thunberg wants to present her book on the climate crisis in London. She has now spoken to »Elle« about how far away one is from climate targets.

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg spoke to Elle magazine about her Asperger syndrome, among other things.

The disruption helped her see the lack of action to achieve climate goals, the 19-year-old said.

Thunberg told the magazine that it is always being asserted that it is not yet in line with the Paris Agreement, but at least taking small steps in the right direction.

Her autism spectrum disorder helped her "see through all the bullshit they say," she said.

»Some might see it as an effort, but my view is that we are still a long way from the bare minimum of what we should be doing.«

People with Asperger's often have difficulties with social interactions, but often develop strong special interests.

Thunberg plans to present her new book, The Climate Book, at the London Literature Festival on October 30 in the British capital.

In the anthology with more than 100 articles, experts and celebrities have their say on the climate crisis.

"One of the key messages is: 'Don't listen to me, listen to the scientists, listen to those who are most affected,'" Thunberg said.

The Swede has been a leading climate activist since she first went on strike at school when she was 15 to demonstrate in front of the Swedish parliament.

Through her activism, Thunberg became a hate figure on social networks, and the New Right mobilized against climate activists like the 19-year-old.

Thunberg told Elle: "People seem to think I'm an angry teenager, they obviously haven't met me yet."
