Isabelle Adjani, Isabelle Huppert, Muriel Robin or even Laure Calamy took their scissors on Wednesday October 5th.
In a video posted on Instagram, with a backdrop of
Bella Ciao,
we see them cutting their hair in front of the camera, taking up one of the symbols of the ongoing uprising in Iran.
The gesture may seem ridiculous, it expresses a belated but welcome solidarity.
"It's not up to me to say what Western countries should or shouldn't do, but everyone has a duty and a responsibility to support fundamental human rights,
" Hassan Nazer, an Iranian director present at the British Film Festival in London ,
told
Le Figaro

It's great to see that French artists are mobilizing.
And that this support comes from all over the world.
We can all express ourselves creatively to make our voices heard for all human rights, not just in Iran.”
