Swedish writer Anna Wahlgren is dead. After a long illness, she died on Friday at her home in Goa, India, her daughter Isadora Cugler told the Swedish news agency TT.

Wahlgren was 80 years old.

One of her best known - and controversial - works was 1983's 'Barnaboken' (The Children's Book), in which the mother-of-nine gave advice to parents on raising children up to 16 years old.

Among her own children was the literary scholar Sara Danius, who died in 2019 and was permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy responsible for the Nobel Prize in Literature for several years before her death.
