2022-10-07T06:57:08.613Z

The union claims to have no contact with the management of the oil group. At this stage, more than one service station in 10 was deprived of all or part of its fuel in France.

The situation does not seem to be unblocked within TotalEnergies.

"

It's a strike that is anchored in time

," said Thierry Defresne, CGT secretary of the European works council of TotalEnergies, this Friday, on RMC.

At the origin of this social movement which has lasted for about ten days, a dissatisfaction carried by the CGT on the question of wages.

If several employees want a 10% increase over the year 2022, the management, which has already granted 3.5% since the start of the year, sends the file back to negotiations in mid-November.

According to the CGT secretary, the dialogue with management is at a standstill.

"

It's radio silence, we have no contact

," he said.

12% of service stations facing difficulties

Thierry Defresne made a point of recalling, this Friday that "

employees exercise a completely legal and constitutional right: the right to strike

".

Indeed, this strike at TotalEnergies is not without consequences for the French since it has led to the shutdown of six refineries out of the eight in France.

According to government spokesperson Olivier Véran, this Wednesday, 12% of service stations “

encounter difficulties with at least one type of fuel

”, with variable situations depending on the region, Hauts-de-France being the most affected with approximately 30% of the stations.

The materialization of our work stoppage is beginning to be seen.

It's panic, there's no more fuel anywhere

“, welcomed the secretary general CGT Alexis Antonioli, who fears”

requisitions to break the strike

“.

However, these supply tensions would not be solely caused by this strike.

According to the TotalEnergies group, these disturbances can also be explained by

"the fall in prices"

in its stations - a discount at the pump of 20 euro cents per liter - which led to

"a significant influx"

.

Even if the strike seems to settle in the long term, the government wanted to be reassuring: “

We are in the process of improving the situation, it will take two or three days a priori.

On the basis of what oil tankers can repatriate from Belgium and from Rouen, and to facilitate things we are releasing part of our strategic stocks

, ”assured Thursday evening on BFMTV the Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher.
